Our Founders – Fountainhead School

A diamantaire by profession since the last two decades, Parag is the Executive Director of K Girdharlal International Pvt. Ltd., a leading diamond manufacturer and exporter from India. Parag has a strong passion and vision to bring high-quality education to the city of Surat and he played a pivotal role in the establishment of Fountainhead School. His vision of building a value-driven institute of excellence has played the primary role in nurturing Fountainhead School. He continues to play a vital role in major strategic decisions, and framing of school policies. His passion for modern architecture has translated into a unique, airy and comfortable school building and his passion for nature has ensured a large number of trees at the school campus.

Ankita holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from Mumbai University. After gaining one year of professional experience at i-Flex Solutions (now Oracle Financial), she pursued a Post-Graduation Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad. Following this, Ankita worked for Procter & Gamble for eight months before co-founding Fountainhead Preschool with Vardan. Her commitment to education is further demonstrated by her year-long training in the Steiner Method of Education and completion of a postgraduate diploma in School Leadership and Management.

In her role at Fountainhead, Ankita plays a pivotal role in overseeing the design and implementation of the IB Primary years programme, managing administrative responsibilities including admissions, teacher training, and resource management. Additionally, she efficiently handles the day-to-day operations of two separate Preschools.

Vardan holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Sciences from IIT Mumbai. Following a Post-Graduation Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad, he co-founded Fountainhead Preschool with Ankita. Leading the operations of Fountainhead School in Surat since its inception in 2008, he is responsible for the overall academics and administration of the school, as well as the teacher training and leadership development program at Fountainhead. Vardan ensures the implementation of innovative pedagogy and student-centric education in the classroom through continuous training and mentoring of teachers. His passion for sports and arts is reflected in the establishment of a robust culture of sports and arts for all Fountainhead stakeholders. Vardan is not only an accomplished academic professional but also an author, having written the book “Reimagining Indian Education.” This book provides valuable insights into the imperative for a transformative revolution in the education system.
